Brand, Narrative & Executive Communications

Narrative is an operating asset, not marketing. An unsourced story does not fail at the pitch — it fails in the second meeting, when a director opens the appendix and the number does not rebuild.

All capabilities

Our approach

Our perspective.

Positioning language, board narratives, and executive communication built with the same rigor as the operating system they describe — every claim sourced, every number re-derivable.

Narrative quality is downstream of operating quality, and the discipline runs both directions. Writing the board narrative from operating data exposes what the operating system cannot yet answer; fixing that gap is strategy work, filed as editorial.

This site is built under the same rules it sells. Every proof surface carries a provenance label; every claim traces to a person or a registry entry; nothing is presented that cannot be defended.

Common challenges

The challenges we help address.

  1. The deck and the data room disagree

The board deck tells one story; the data room, assembled eighteen months later, tells another. Nothing was fabricated — the numbers were simply never wired to the record. At diligence the gap is priced as sloppiness or as spin, and both are expensive.

  2. The unsourced deck

A board narrative whose numbers cannot be re-derived invites the worst possible board dynamic: auditing instead of governing.

  3. Voice by committee

Language sanded by consensus until it could belong to anyone — and therefore persuades no one. Positioning is choosing; committee prose refuses to choose.

How we work

How the engagement runs.

  1. Step 1

    Diagnose

The narrative audit: what the company claims, what it can prove, and where the gap is doing damage.

  2. Step 2

    Architect

The position and its language: what the firm is for, in words precise enough to exclude.

  3. Step 3

    Build

Board narratives, positioning systems, and executive communication built with the register underneath: every number wired to the record that produces it, so a claim challenged in the meeting re-derives on demand instead of overnight.

  4. Step 4

    Operate

Narrative maintained as an operating output: each quarter’s story generated from the record, not reconstructed from memory.

Deliverables

What the work produces.

Board narrative
Decide with a board that has the sourced, re-derivable story.
Positioning & message architecture
Decide what the company says everywhere, from one source of truth.
Executive communication system
Set how leadership sounds: in writing, at the podium, under questions.
Claim-to-source register
Trace every number the company says in public to the record that rebuilds it.

Evidence

From the case studies.
