About Gene

Gene Wright is Lotus’s senior adviser on acquisitions. He helps clients assess the businesses they are considering and make decisions about transaction structure and an eventual exit.

A former Global Partner at Accenture, Gene has spent four decades in retail, consulting and transactions. At The Retail Place, Accenture’s Chicago-based “Store of the Future,” he led senior engagements and hosted executive teams from The Home Depot, Target, Best Buy, Walmart, AT&T, The Coca-Cola Company and Microsoft.

Gene founded Northstar Consulting to help Fortune 500 companies develop new retail concepts and expand. He later founded Northstar Advisory Group, advising corporate and high-net-worth buyers in the lower middle market. His more than 25 years of advisory work in the southeastern United States have included buy-side and sell-side transactions, valuations and equity raises. Under Northstar’s program leadership, more than 500 AT&T wireless stores opened nationwide.

As a founding board member of Emory University’s RAISE Forum, Gene reviewed more than 200 startups over eight years. He is a licensed business broker, a board member of the Georgia Association of Business Brokers and an active investor. He holds a B.B.A. from the University of West Georgia.
